Pro Tips For Shooting Content in Tulum
- Make a list of all the places you want to shoot, then pin each location onto your Google Maps to help you plan out your journey as you explore Tulum!
- Go early! You will find lines at most of these spots starting late morning and all the way into the evening.
1. The Tepee at Nomade
Nomade Tulum is packed full of Instagrammable places! This tepee out was one of my favorites! You’ll find it out on their beach (um, obviously!)

2. Ahau Tulum Entrance
How incredible is this spot at the entrance to Ahau Tulum? You’ll find it on the main road on Tulum Beach, you can’t miss it!
Ahau is a popular Eco-hotel with lots of gorgeous photo spots (more to come in this list!) and they are famous for their vegan restaurant Raw Love.
3. Gran Cenote
This Instagram-famous photo spot is located in Gran Cenote, which is a short 10 minutes drive from Tulum.
It’s one of the most popular cenotes near Tulum, so definitely get there early if you don’t want crowds in your photos! We got there right when it opened, and had the whole place to ourselves for almost an hour!

4. Mia Tulum Entrance
This spot can be found at the entrance to Mia Beach Club, right along the main road of Tulum Beach. Stay tuned for another beautiful spot at Mia later on this list!
5. OKO Spa
This isn’t a popular Instagram-hotspot (which is why I love it so much!) and it’s located right on the main road of Tulum Beach. It’s located right out front of OKO Spa. Stop to snap a few photos at their serene entrance as you’re walking by!

6. Gitano Restaurant
Gitano is a famous restaurant on Tulum Beach. Snap a photo at their gorgeous restaurant sign! The best time is right before dark, so there’s enough light for a photo but it’s dark enough so the sign gleams bright pink!
Oh, and be prepared to politely ask a few people waiting for their tables to move out of your photo 🙂
Matcha Mama
This one probably needs no explanation, as it’s the most Instagram-popular spot in all of Tulum!
It’s located right on the main road of Tulum Beach. They are world-famous for their smoothies, acai, and of course, their matcha!
This is a real popular one folks, if you can’t get their early, be ready for lines!

8. Holistika Tulum
This is another spot that’s more under the radar. Holistika Tulum is a boutique hotel and wellness center located in Downtown Tulum. It was recommended to us by our host at our resort and is absolutely full of gorgeous photo spots, like this one!
It’s free to roam around! They have a yummy restaurant and a cute little shop, too.
This particular spot is located in the center of the resort, near the treehouse.
9. Macondo Restaurant - Nomade
Here’s another amazing spot located in Hotel Nomade. The Moroccon vibes are to die for!
Macondo is open for dining in the mornings and evenings, so go during the hours it’s closed to snap a photo with the place to yourself. Those closed hours are from 11:30am-6pm

10. Zacil Ha Cenote
Zacil Ha Cenote is a small swimming hole located about 10 minutes outside of Downtown Tulum.
We got there pretty early, and the only other people there were a few local families swimming with their kids. There honestly isn’t much else to see there except what you see in this photo! But it’s close to Gran Cenote, and is absolutely worth a quick stop for a photo like this one!
BONUS: Mia Tulum Beach Club
This spot at Mia Beach Club is another classic Tulum photo spot! You can find it on the beach at the resort!

BONUS #2: Be Tulum Beach Cabana
We were venturing along Tulum beach and found this picture-perfect spot under the cabanas. I don’t know if it’s for guests only or not, but we hung out there for a while and no one said anything!
Note: Be Tulum does not allow professional photography at their resort. You must shoot with your iPhone.
